"In 1973, I began The Sky Diary — a coloured drawing of the sky every day for the rest of my life. With several thousand daily entries to date, these drawings represent more than a handmade record of the atmospheric colours and hues. The Sky Diary reflects a timeless rendering of the beauty above and a central silence of appreciation for one of nature's most stunning elements."

OUR STORY

Every Day a Sky

September 1st, 1973 | Ralph Reed begins documenting the sky in his diary — every day for the rest of his life. Over the past fifty years, Ralph has created more than 18,000 daily diary entries.

Every Sky a Memory

1989 | Ralph makes a painting from the sky diary entry on the day his son, Jackson, was born. Friends see the painting and commission sky diary paintings for births, weddings, and other special days.

Remembering Every Day

Present | After Ralph beats cancer, Jackson commits to archiving every Sky Diary entry and making them available online for anyone to see. Ralph continues painting and drawing every day.
